Incoloy 925 Plate Description
925 alloy is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy designed to resist extreme corrosion conditions, pitting and crevice corrosion. This nickel steel alloy also exhibits unusually high recovery, tensile and creep rupture properties at elevated temperatures. These nickel alloys have long-term use from low temperatures to 1200 °F. A recognized component of the 925 composition of Inconel is the expansion of niobium to achieve age hardening, thereby annealing and welding during heating and cooling without unconstrained hardening. The expansion of niobium works with molybdenum to harden the alloy matrix and achieve high strength without strengthening heat treatment. Other well-known nickel-chromium alloys are age-hardened by the expansion of aluminum and titanium. This nickel steel alloy is quickly formed and can be welded in an annealed or precipitation (age) hardened condition.
